New Horizons for Yotta DCL
Yotta DCL map the future with new software offering
11th April 2011: Yotta DCL, the leading highway surveyor, today announced the launch of its new Visualised Asset Management platform, Horizons. A brand new concept in asset management software, Horizons will enable local authorities, to visualise, manage and optimise asset management strategies all in one place.
The Horizons platform is an amalgamation of GIS, Pavement Management and Asset Management disciplines. This combined functionality allows users to manage multiple sets of data, make cost predictions, plan and model various road maintenance scenarios, build schemes and ultimately, make better, more informed decisions.
Nick Smee, managing director at Yotta DCL said, “We created Horizons with the end user in mind. By utilising Google Maps for the interface, customers will feel a real sense of familiarity from their first use. Not only will asset managers feel comfortable using Horizons, but anyone within the organisation should be able to navigate and pull data and reports quickly and easily.”
Data can be imported from any source so that decisions can be made that are based on all relevant and available information. Smee explained: “Currently, network data might be held in many disparate locations and forms. By bringing all of that information into the same place, and making it easily accessible, customers will have the power to make more informed decisions and plan maintenance schemes with greater time and cost efficiency.”
Horizons provides a new, improved way for Local Authorities to manage their network at a time when cost-efficiency is a major concern, but road repairs and reviews still need to take place. Potholes and road quality in general are ‘hot’ news topics right now and Horizons will help councils to plan maintenance schemes that can fix these issues faster, more effectively and in those areas where action needs to be taken first.
To provide deeper insight into the new Horizons platform, Yotta DCL will be hosting a series of events where organisations can learn more about the software. The meetings will be taking place throughout May 2011. Please contact us on 0845 45 96882 or email us at contactus@yottadcl.com for more information.
