Yotta DCL selected to survey entire highway network for Gateshead MBC
Leamington Spa, UK: Yotta DCL, the UK’s largest surveying company, has today announced it will carry out an asset inventory of Gateshead MBC’s entire highway network. Using its innovative asset collection vehicle, equipped with 6 high-definition cameras, it offers a full street-level view of the highway.
Yotta has been signed up to give Gateshead MBC a full understanding of the location and condition of specific Highways assets, such as carriageway, footway and several items of street furniture.
The key driver behind Gateshead decision to have their survey conducted by Yotta was their ability to provide an accurate geographical location of their assets and the attribute details linked to them. The council has a priority to continually improve their public roads and pavements to ensure the highway network is safe for everyone to use.
The data collected by Yotta will help Gateshead to achieve this goal by ensuring that their highway assets meet their service delivery needs in terms of their condition, suitability, sufficiency, cost, location, safety and their environmental impact. By using the data Gateshead will also be able to produce accurate asset valuations, model depreciation, and forecast maintenance and replacement costs. The data will also play a key part in enabling Gateshead to keep their asset management system up to date.
