FAQs
What’s your van doing on my street?
Yotta DCL is a highways surveyor. We carry out a number of surveys on behalf of Local Councils, providing information to help maintain and improve the road network.
You can find out more about the types of survey we undertake on this site under the surveys section.
What does Yotta mean?
Yotta (unit symbol Y) is a prefix in the metric system denoting a factor of 10 to the power of 24 and the largest unit there is for measuring data, roughly equivalent to the number of grains of sand on the planet.
There’s a pothole on my road, can you fix it?
Unfortunately not, this is the responsibility of your local council’s highways department and you will need to report it to them, you can usually do this via the councils website.
Why can’t the vehicles survey in bad weather?
Our vehicles are unable to survey in bad weather as water on the road can affect your survey results.
